Practice Philosophy

Dr. Nash is a Houston native with deep roots in the community that provides non-operative, personalized treatment options to patients suffering with acute and chronic pain. Dr. Nash strives to provide compassionate care which begins with listening to the patient.

“I enjoy helping the patient focus and understand in order to take control of their health.” Dr. Nash listens to his patients and works with them to develop a customized course of treatment. This may include one or several non-surgical treatments, such as oral and topical medications, ultrasound guided injections as opposed to unguided blind injections, fluoroscopic guided injections done in the outpatient surgical setting, pharmacogenetic testing, advanced diagnostic blood testing, regenerative medicine injections, platelet rich plasma injections, prolotherapy, assistive devices such as braces, heat therapeutic exercise, cold therapy, massage and directed physical or occupational therapy. Finally, Dr. Nash strongly believes in patient education and involvement with their care, including preventative medicine and for post-injury recovery.

Physiatrists see patients experiencing a wide range of problems – from sore shoulders to muscle weakness – that may make it difficult to function at home, in the workplace or during recreational activities. Dr. Nash will use techniques ranging from detailed medical histories and examination to specialized nerve conduction studies and ultrasound to diagnose a multitude of medical conditions. When evaluating patients, he considers the impact of their condition on the whole person – not only medically but emotionally and vocally. Sometimes surgery is necessary, and Dr. Nash will work with patients and their surgeons beforehand, and coordinate their care afterward. Dr. Nash believes patients can achieve a successful recovery by working with other physicians, such as internal medicine, family medicine, psychiatry, rheumatology, and orthopedic surgeons.
